Facial Fillers
Facial Fillers
Is Dermal-filler for you?
Injectable facial dermal fillers are used to soften wrinkles and lines and give structure, volume and support, resulting in a more refreshed youthful complexion. This is because as we age we naturally begin to lose volume and structure from our face.
The most common fillers are made of hyaluronic acid which is compound found naturally in our skin. The filler is non-permanent so you can decide whether it’s something you’d like to keep up with. The filler consists of having small injections to place the implant and then sometimes massaged to help it settle.
Fillers can be used to enhance or volumise features, as well as minimise / reshape, such as evening out bumps in the nose, defining the jaw area, and sharpening or volumising cheekbones.
Like with most procedures there are risks which you should be aware of such as: swelling, bruising, redness, itching, the filler moving out of the specific area, or lumps forming. More rarely, a blood vessel could be blocked which can result in blindness, or tissue death.
If deciding to have fillers, ensure you research properly to know whether it’s for you. Find a reputable company; check out the reviews, and client photographs. Ensure you have a consultation with the practitioner about any questions / concerns you may have. If things go wrong, is the practitioner able to dissolve the filler or deal with any other concerns? Will there be a fee? Can they be easily contacted? Attend the clinic and make sure it’s clean, and the correct procedures are being carried out.
